. | . | The WGMS regularly collects data for the production of the 'Fluctuations of Glaciers' and the 'Glacier Mass Balance Bulletin' series. The Call-for-Data is sent out through the national correspondents of WGMS who organize the collection and the submission of the glacier data according to the WGMS standards within their country. Apart from the official Calls-for-Data, the WGMS welcomes any glacier data that is submitted according to the standards described below. Call for data 2007/08: The WGMS now calls for glacier fluctuation data (i.e., mass balance, changes in length, area, thickness, volume) covering the observation period 2007/08, as well as addenda from earlier years. Submission deadline is the 1st of February 2010. For the submission of glacier fluctuation data (i.e., glacier changes over time) please carefully read the General Guidelines for Data Submission as well as the Notes on the Completion of the Data Sheets and use the excel-based Digital Data Submission Form of the WGMS! For the submission of glacier inventory data (i.e., distribution of perennial surface ice at a certain point in time) please check the website of the GLIMS initiative and contact Bruce Raup (braup@nsidc.org)! For the submission of glacier photo collections and repeat photographs please check the NSIDC Photograph Collection and contact Lisa Ballagh (vtlisa@nsidc.org)! |
